Sources

Sources is a dual VCO module with FM, sync, PWM, waveform mixing, and integrated ring modulation that delivers everything from solid analog tones to complex, evolving sound design in a single oscillator system.

Sources is a fully featured dual VCO engine built for sound design, combining two closely matched oscillators with fixed and variable wave outputs, frequency modulation options, and integrated processing. Each VCO offers 1V/Oct tracking, linear FM, exponential FM depth control, sync, PWM, and sub-oscillator phase shaping, giving you everything from stable harmonic tones to unstable, animated chaos.

Waveform switching is immediate: each waveform can be switched on, attenuated by -6 dB, or completely off, allowing dynamic layering and real-time timbral sculpting. Level controls double as attenuators or mix/pan controls between waves, with normalization to a fixed voltage when no input is present.

At its core, Sources is also a complex signal processor. A dedicated ring modulator blends one VCO against either an external signal or the internal mix output for rich, metallic, and inharmonic textures. A second multi-input ring modulator expands this further, doubling as a VCA-style processor or a high-level modulation mixer depending on how it’s driven.

From stable analog basses and classic detuned supersaws to evolving FM timbres, aggressive ring-mod chaos, and self-patched feedback systems, Sources is designed as a complete oscillator ecosystem rather than just a pair of VCOs.
